On November, 27th hydroelectric unit No.1 of Kambaratinskaya HPP-2 (Kyrgyzstan) has been brought into operation and the station has started producing of first electrical energy.

This hydroelectric unit is equipped with modern local control system (LCS). LCS is made by Scientific-Production Company (SPC) “Rakurs” in St.Petersburg on the basis of hardware and software complex “Apogey”. The control system is designed for implementing of security features, monitoring, control and recording of operational modes of main and auxiliary equipment of radial-axial hydroturbine RO75/841v-V-580 LMZ with nominal capacity of 122,5 MW.

The system of SPC “Rakurs” is made in full compliance with the requirements of Rostechnadzor and Industry guidelines about the level of security and trouble-free operation of a technological process. The system was manufactured and shipped in August 2010.

Deputy Energy Minister of Kyrgyzstan Avtandil Kalmanbetov explained the main reasons for delay of hydroelectric unit startup: "Special adjustment and alignment were proceeding after the 30th of August. The fact is that the generator was designed 25 years ago and it was made 20 years ago. The turbine and generator works with the same parameters, but protection and control systems are needed to be updated, based on new microprocessor devices. All of this needed time.”

"The first generator is placed under the industrial load, and energy was included into consolidated power system of Kyrgyzstan through the network of 110 kilovolts. Annual output of the generator is about 700 millions kilowatt-hour, what is comparable with the consumption of the Issyk-Kulskiy region" - said the Deputy Minister.
